PE (Polyethylene) calcite compound is a widely used filler material in plastic production to reduce costs, improve mechanical properties and impart specific qualities to the final product. Calcite, also known as calcium carbonate (CaCO₃), is blended with the PE polymer and produced in the form of a masterbatch or compound.

The main areas of application for these compounds are as follows:

Plastic Film and Packaging:

PE calcium carbonate compound increases the hardness, opacity and printability of the film during film production. It is used to reduce costs in products such as shopping bags, bin liners, stretch films and food packaging.
Pipe and Profile Production:
Particularly in irrigation or infrastructure pipes, calcium carbonate compounds increase the pipe’s rigidity and impact resistance while also reducing production costs.
Injection Moulding Products:
Calcite compounds improve the durability and surface quality of products manufactured using injection moulding, such as plastic household items, kitchenware, lids and automotive parts.

Cable Insulation:

By being used in the production of the inner filling and outer sheath of certain cable types, it both reduces costs and supports insulation properties.

Blow Moulding Products:

They are used in the production of empty products such as shampoo bottles and detergent boxes to reduce the weight of the product and increase production speed.

Textile and Woven Products:

In the production of woven products such as sacks and bags, it is added to the raw material to increase the product’s strength and provide a cost advantage.

Benefits and Importance

The main reasons for the widespread use of PE calcium carbonate compound are that it significantly reduces production costs and improves product properties. At the same time, it has the potential to reduce environmental impact and contribute to sustainable production by reducing the amount of plastic raw material used.
The primary objectives of these compounds include improving production efficiency by 10 to 15 per cent, enhancing the dimensional stability of the final product, reducing raw material costs, and minimising static electricity generation.
